I believe in struggling is the only way to keep up. This describes me very well my professional and personal life. I am applying for Master in Business Administration program in Swansea Metropolitan University. I have completed my graduation degree in engineering in Electronics & Communication with a strong knowledge base of communication and computer networks. The logical part of computer languages has always attracted me. I had keen interest in Computer programming since school time. It not only made me technically sound, but also helped me in acquiring comprehensive problem solving abilities.
In Life, hard work has no substitute. Hence, for my summer trainings, I opted for projects in research institutes, where my technical knowledge was boosted. I worked with the state-of-the-art systems like Engraver machine and various CAD Software. I worked in-group of four on various rock samples to study their electrical parameters. Our research was published in Indian journals and international conferences. I have also made two projects, which were amalgamation of state-of-the-art hardware, software and innovative ideas.
I like working in a team. As a team member I not only speak, but grasp the things very quickly. This team spirit comes from the affinity I have towards sports. Since childhood I have always been interested in sports of various kinds. Sports have not only made me physically fit, but also developed a never-say-die attitude and ample of team spirit in me. I believe in try and try until you succeed; I always participated in extra curricular activities like being a member of editorial board of departmental news letter or participating songs & dance competitions. Music is food for my heart. With this feeling, I have won an award for dance at college level. I have also presented a seminar on Beowulf clusters, which was appreciated by my teachers due to my thorough knowledge of topic and confidence in public speaking.
I belong to a small city Jodhpur in India, but that does not obstruct my vision about my career goals. I always had a global view about my career. I wanted to pursue my post graduation in place where I can meet people who comes from all over the world, thinking globally. I belong to India, a country having rich and varied heritage. It has infused a strong sense of its culture and values in me. While keeping that, I would like to optimize my skills with adaptation of contemporary edges and principles being used all over the world. I would go for a course, which would heighten my communication skills, creativity, entrepreneurship, team spirit, knowledge base and give me an exposure to different cultural settings around the globe.
Since I have completed my engineering degree, I have that technical knowledge base, aptitude and tactical skills. With this, I would like to do value addition to my education and pursue a course in management. In business, the confluence on many forces including technology, financial innovation, free market, and globalization demands a greater level of skills from individuals to understand and change themselves according radical changes in business world. For this one need have a cutting edge above others. Hence, my advanced business education with a sound technical base would help me reach in top managerial position in a leading value driven corporation.
Having decided that I will engage in the pursuit of a career in management, I am fully aware of the implications. I am aware of the kind of dedication, resilience and resolve that it calls for. I feel that I am adequately prepared, both in having the technical qualifications, and in having the right mind-set for complexities of business studies. I understand that I come from technical background, instead of a commerce background; hence, I’ll have to work hard in order to keep up to the high standards of the University. I look forward to studying in Swansea Metropolitan University and a beneficial relationship with this University.
