Work Placements at Middlessex University

Middlesex University offers a variety of courses that allow its students to undertake work placement so that they can actually use their theory knowledge in a practical work environment. Through this approach the students will not only acquire the employability skills but it will also help them to prepare for a better academic & professional career. It is actually an opportunity to get the direct work exposure related to the course of study. If someone has started his/her course as a new student since September 2012 then he/she doesn’t have to pay the tuition fee during the placement year.

Types of Placements available:

  • A four-year sandwich degree: It includes a placement of up to twelve months. The students who enrolled from September 2012 onwards, they don’t have to pay the fee during their placement year. The students would be supervised & they are often paid the salary.
  • An Internship/short term placement: It actually comes in the form of days, weeks or hours of work experience. While on the job the students analyze their placement organization, develop their role and enhance employability skills.
  • A postgraduate placement: Many of the postgraduate courses offered by the University include an accredited and/or compulsory work placement.
  • How University supports this?

    The placement staff tells students on options available and guide them & help them to find a suitable job for themselves. The students also receive help in preparing CV & to prepare for interview. Many of the students get their work placements with international companies, local businesses, NGO’s, schools, fashion houses etc.
