Martin Luther King Jr. has always fascinated me, both as a visionary and a spiritual leader. His vision and perspective match with Christopher Reeve’s tenacity in the face of most agonizing situations. I have always wondered what the endurance limits are for someone who has been endowed with a fair amount of comfort of opportunity. My choice of pursuing my MSc in International Hospitality Management has been motivated by a desire to be a part of my father’s business. This career appears to me, as one that is most absorbing and challenging. During the last three years, I have often pondered about the gift of life, and the demands it makes on individuals.

I am 26 year old from India. Fortunately I have been blessed with parents who besides being highly educated have an extremely liberal outlook. My father is an hotelier; he has always believed in serving people and therefore I joined his venture which was established in 1957. My mother is a graduate in Arts and a Secretarial Diploma, to cater to the needs of the family she had to drop her responsibilities at her organization and take up new responsibilities of a home maker.
After completing my graduation from Thames Valley University – India Campus, I got practical experience from several hotels like HOTEL GREEN PARK, GOLD FINCH HOTEL, THE CENTRAL COURT, THE PRESIDENT HOTEL, GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT SPORTS BAR etc… as an assistant restaurant manager I held the responsibilities of creating and maintaining daily reports of the restaurant. I was also responsible for managing the staff of the organization and ensuing high level of customer service. Galaxy Entertainment sports Bar is one of the leading hotels that cater to the needs of the tourists.
To achieve my goal of expanding my father’s business and scaling heights for it, I would like to study for my MSc in International Hospitality Management from Sheffield Hallam University in UK for my post-graduation. I expect my studies in UK to be a great learning experience as along with theoretical knowledge it will instillsin me and the practical sessions will give me invaluable international exposure. I feel your institution can provide me with a perfectly conducive atmosphere in which to pursue my postgraduate studies.
Getting the chance to study Sheffield Hallam University will definitely equip me with the knowledge and expertise to excel in International Hospitality. I want to be a part of your valued institute to be able to accomplish my purpose and be able to scale heights never achieved before. My interaction with the people from diverse cultures will greatly help me to understand the values of a global family that I am part of. Moreover, coming from India, a culturally diverse country, I have been enriched substantially in the multiple cultures and relationships. I have grown up with a broader vision towards different cultures. Therefore, I believe I will be able to contribute significantly to your University.
