New UK Visa Regulations on Hold-English Language Schools Breathe a Sigh of Relief!

As thousands of English language schools waited with bated breath, the high court on July 9 took its final decision on the case against the supposed new visa restrictions and regulations set in motion by the home government. According to the new regulations, a student coming to UK must have a good command over English at least till GCSE level. This change was found absurd and disruptive for business by many English language schools across UK. It was to protest this cause that the English UK, a representative body of 440 language schools took up the matter to high court.
Government Point of View
The government is right in its stand too somewhere when it shows its concern regarding the misuse and abuse of the system by illegal immigrants and migrants who come to UK for low paid jobs and have no intention of pursing studies in UK.
The new visa restrictions were proposed to keep this group in check!
English UK Point of View
English language schools who raised their voice protest against this unfair rule were justified in their point of view. This would limit their student reach and many people who want to study English in UK won’t be able to apply due to the raised English level! In fact, the current level of low English with just 150-200 hours is just right for getting admission into an English language school in UK
Court’s Decision
Mr. Justice Foskett declared that the new restrictions are just based on the altered guidelines by the Home office. This matter should have been first sent to debate in the parliament session and then later on any specific decision should be taken regarding the new visa regulations.
English UK‘s chief executive Tony Millns stated that this new visa system was absurd and downright impractical for English language schools in UK.
Coalition government at present is looking into this matter and deciding over how to screen he students coming to UK for studying English to see whether they are genuine or not!
