Eurospeak College is well-known in UK for its excellent language training, competent management study programmes and extensive knowledge enhancing computing courses. It has now forayed into the more elite hospitality study programmes that provide a firm base for students aspiring to venture into this service sector. One can date back its history to 1992, when the college started in Greyfriars centre in Reading, just 65 kms west of London. Initially it provided evening classes for foreign [non English speaking] nannies staying with English families. But as its popularity grew over the years, it started running language classes both in the morning and evening throughout the week.
The following will give you the evolution of the present day Eurospeak College
1993-97: Started morning and evening language classes whole week with assistance for students in getting student visa.
1999: Became a recognised exam centre by Cambridge English exams.
2002: Initiated IT studies
2003: Became a recognised centre for OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and the Royal Society of Arts) IT exams
2009: Earned accreditation from ASIC i.e. Accreditation Service for International Colleges and license by UK border agency as an international college.
Eurospeak College plays host to students from more than 80 nationalities every year in its two buildings which are just 50m from each other. The campus is located in central Reading – the Greyfriars centre and a separate building opened in 2002 that houses the main school office as well as a number of classrooms.. Reading is famous for its historical background and extensive job opportunities. There is also a summer school for students between the ages of 14and 19 that provides learning mixed with fun activities. There is also an an option in the summer school for adult only classes.
In addition, the college provides the opportunity to progress further is selected study programmes. Students can finish their dissertation with Thames Valley University and University of Sunderland. Students looking for accommodation during summer school can apply to live with the local British host families enlisted by Eurospeak College. There are lot of accommodation options in Reading in the form of flats, residence halls, shared rooms and houses that can be found quite easily online.
